BEFORE FIRST USE: you are advised to soak the items for one night in cold water and then wash them at 40 °. This precautionary measure is a way of getting rid of residual agents and pigments and of minimizing any warping of your linen and improving resistance to dirt. You are advised to wash pillowcases and duvet covers inside out in order to protect the colors. Wherever possible, wash all the items of a set together so that they all look the same as time goes on. Iron your linen while it is still damp, this will make ironing easier (especially for linen). Hang out your linen on a washing line rather than putting it in a dryer. This makes it fresher and easier to iron. Choose detergents without any optical blueing agents – these irritate the linen, they are pollutants and do not have any cleaning power. If your linen is embroidered, iron it on the other side so as not to ruin the embroidery work.
Separate the coloureds from the whites and make sure you use a special color detergent. Detergents that contain whitening agents may alter the color of your linen. Choose detergents without any optical blueing agents – these irritate the linen, they are pollutants and do not have any cleaning power.
TO TRY: Dry your linen as soon as the wash cycle is completed by hanging it out to dry as fully as possible, and iron it while it is still damp. This makes ironing easier. If you are using a dryer, make sure you take your linen out before it is completely dry. Drying on a washing line is ideal for ensuring that the linen is hardly crumpled at all.
