Basque Linen Loom[dropcap]O[/dropcap]nce assembled, it required days to figure out how to prepare the “teeth” of the comb that creates the texture you intend.  At the rate of six feet a day, if you work hard, the small inventory on the rear shelves represents some serious time, and not much time lost to repairing ropes that shift the shuttle.  Foot pedals direct the shuttle motion.  The weaving operation requires constant attention, especially for consistency, but it is not physical as mas as time-bound.
